Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

This is the 13th annual 100 kms Mountain Bike Race around Cd. Juarez, Mexico (Across the border from El Paso Tx.) thru extreme desert conditions with well over 2500 participants including cyclist of international fame. Esta es la 13va edicion de la Carrera de Ciclismo de Montaña de 100 kms. que se lleva a cabo en el Desierto de Cd. Juárez, Chih. donde mas de 2500 participantes se congregan desde atletas de reconocimiento internacional hasta guerreros de fin de semana.

Texas Forts Tour – A Ride through History.

October 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2009 – Columbus Day Weekend

This exciting new adventure will start Friday, October 9th at Fort Richardson State Park, near Jacksboro Texas with late registration and packet pick-up, a Bicycle Trade Show and a Spaghetti Dinner.

Saturday, October 10th we’ll get on the road at 8 A.M. and head for Graham, stop at Fort Belknap which is about 100 k into the day and overnight at
Throckmorton. For a map of the 91 miles course visit the website.

Sunday, October 11 we’ll roll out of Throckmorton at 8 A.M. and ride to Fort Griffin,Albany, Mankins Mill and overnight at Breckenridge. For a map of the full 67.5 miles, visit the website .

Monday, October 12 we’ll head back to Fort Richardson with an “easy” 86 mile ride via Brad, Mineral Wills and Graford.
