Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Tour de San Antonio – Review

Tom Orsborn writes an interesting article on this year’s Tour de San Antonio in the San Antonio Express-News. Tom recounts his ride and the people he met during the ride. Accompanied by 11 other cyclists the 25 mile ride covered downtown and the South Side areas. Full article

Mayday Challenge – College Station, TX

route lengths:
4 miles (Family Fun Ride), 18 miles, 40 miles, 67 miles.

A great cycling experience in the beauty of Central Texas directly helping individuals with disabilities. The routes take you through the wonderful country side of Brazos Valley with gently rolling hills and wild flowers. You will even tour pass the wine vineyards of Massina Hof. All proceeds will support Junction 505 and its mission to enhance the quality of life for adults with disabilities by providing them with the opportunity to join the mainstream in employment.

Adults: $25.00

Performance Bicycle to open Houston store
