Physicist-cyclist Peter Richards pedaling coast-to-coast at age 72

Just when you thought age was an excuse to quit riding Peter Richards shows up. Mr. Richards is celebrating 50 years since graduating from MIT by cycling across the US. His son lives in the Midland area and is the reason he changed his route from the one he rode in 1997.
Pedal pushers, senior style, hit town

Navasota was recently reminded that age doesn’t mean a thing when 27 ladies between the ages of 51 and 70-something stopped in town for a rest day while on the WomanTours cross country bicycle tour.
While the ladies’ main reason for biking is to raise money for breast cancer, the 3,096-mile trip also helps promote health, self-empowerment and personal growth.
