Baptist Temple Church in the Heights and the Woodlands Cycling Club are proud to present the second annual Heights Holy Mackerel Bike Race. Located in the historic Houston Heights, this fast .7-mile criterium is set out along tree-covered boulevards and eclectic storefronts near downtown Houston.
This event is sanctioned by the Texas Bicycle Racing Association and USA Cycling and is part of the Lance Armstrong Junior Olympic Road Series (LAJORS). Categories will include a Junior Open Race, Women Open Race, Category 4/5 Men’s Race, Category 3/4 Men’s Race, and Men’s Pro 1/2 Race.
You can pre-register for the 2007 Heights Holy Mackerel Bike Race at bikereg.com. On race day, criterium participants can park and register at 300 West 17th Street.

When Mikail Davenport was diagnosed with polio in 1950, doctors told his parents they should institutionalize him, and that he would end up like a vegetable. Now 58 years old, Davenport spent the month of March bicycling from El Paso to Beaumont Â- all without the use of his legs.
