Kirbyville, TX — July 20, 2021, Linda Wheeler was injured following an accident where a truck hit a bicycle at an intersection.
Investigators reported that the accident happened at around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Street and South Vallie Street.
In their initial reports, officials said that 52-year-old Linda Wheeler was on a bicycle riding along southbound Vallie. Police claim Wheeler disregarded a stop sign, causing a Volvo semi-truck to hit Wheeler.

HURST, Texas (BRAIN) — Longtime retailer Lee Ericson, who owned Bicycles Inc. in Fort Worth for 42 years before selling this year after being diagnosed with cancer, died July 13. He was 63.
"Lee was always such a great person," Specialized Bicycle Components founder and CEO Mike Sinyard told BRAIN. "So happy, full of energy. I can still remember clearly his laugh and the radiance in his eyes. We all loved Lee. Rest in peace, Lee."
Ericson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1958 and his family moved later that year to Great Kills on Staten Island. While in high school in 1974 at age 16, Ericson started working for a bike shop in nearby New Dorp. Ericson eventually became acting manager until the shop closed in …

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock Mayor’s Fitness Council has planned a memorial bike ride in honor of Buffalo Springs Lake triathlon founder Mike Greer.
The 31-mile Celebration of Life Bike Ride will start at the Chisum Travel Center at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24. Everyone’s invited to attend and is encouraged to cheer on cyclists at the Ransom Canyon Center at East 50th Street.
Greer died of pneumonia Wednesday night. He founded the triathlon in 1990.

More than 300 cyclists took to the streets and through the rolling hills of Willis and Conroe early on Fourth of July morning for the 17th Annual “Burn Your Buns †bike ride to benefit Bridgewood Farms.
