About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

A total of 33 club members made the trip. 23 hearty souls braved 112 degree temps on the Saturday Endurance Ride, while the remaining 10 racers hit the race course for Saturday’s road race and Sunday’s criterium.  Once again, we stayed at the Wichita Falls Downtown YMCA.  This year, we traveled in style on our own chartered Team Bus!!

School’s in for the Flies
By Ken        Texas Racing Life
When riding to work, I generally feel safe and am not bothered by cars wizzing around me.  This changes in mid-August when the streets of Houston, like many American towns, are infested with broods of soccer mom’s in Chevy Tahoes speeding their offspring to school while doing their make-up.  They find it incredibly annoying that I use the bike lane, and their lack of planning and parenting skills should justify…
