About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

February 4th Texas Bicycling News at 7:00 PM

Texbiker.net Posted on February 4, 2011 by Rick AnkrumFebruary 4, 2011

Revised Saturday Alsatian Schedule posted by HOLLAND RACING on 2/4/2011 11:55:00 AM.
While it’s nice today in Castroville and will be great tomorrow we wanted to give everyone more time to make it to the races tomorrow safely. Basically the races SATURDAY ONLY will get underway at 11AM, so everyone will start a bit later than originally scheduled. We will be using email blasts, this forum, Facebook and Twitter to notify everyone. Sunday will proceed as originally scheduled.

We will still be at the park tomorrow at 7:30AM for those who don’t get the message. We will also have free coffee and breakfast tacos for folks (we’ve ordered 200 when they are gone they are gone ;-), that way if you show up for the originally posted time you can hang out and munch on some food while you wait.
NEW SATURDAY SCHEDULE
11AM- All Junior Fields Combined, scored separately – 30 Minutes
11:40AM -Cat 5 Men – 30 Minutes
12:30PM – Cat 4 Men – 50 Minutes
1:30PM – Women 3 & 4 – 40 Minutes
2:20 – Masters 40+ 1/2/3/4, Masters 40+ 3/4, & P123 Women – 50 Minutes
3:20 – Cat 3 Men – 60 Minutes
4:30 – P12 Men – 75 minutes

TO: All Previous Riders Of The PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS
As you have undoubtedly experienced this morning (2/4/11) and seen on the weather, tomorrow is expected to be almost as bad as this morning. With your safety in consideration as a rider, we have decided that the 2011 PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS will have to be postponed due to projected icy conditions for tomorrow morning.
As of right now, we are looking for a date that is mutually acceptable to you, as a rider, as well as all of our of our sponsors to hold the ride. Dates under consideration are Sunday, February 27 and March 20, 2011. Neither of these dates is not set yet in concrete and may, because of other rides, be a different date, but please put the tentative dates on your calendar. We will continue to need your help to make the 2011 PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS as great a ride as it has in the past.
