About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Mesa State College, Midwestern State University Dominate at USA Cycling Collegiate National Criterium
from Bicycle.net | Attitude is Everything by editor
Written By Robyn M. Perrin
…A strong favorite heading into the women’s Division 1 race was Carla Swart (Banner Elk, NC/Lees-McRae College), given that Swart had won the road race on Friday – another medal to add to her collection, which includes a podium finish in every race she’s entered in the last two years. But in the final approach, Swart was surpassed by Jennifer Purcell (Wichita Falls, TX/Midwestern State University). While USA Cycling announcers characterized the victory as a major David-beating-Goliath upset, it came as no surprise to fellow men’s Midwestern State University teammate Alexi Martinez. “I thought she was going to win all along,” said Martinez. “Same thing with our man Josh [Carter]. I think he’s going to win too. It would be nice to have both jerseys.” …
