Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Enjoy a 15 or 30 mile ride starting at Painted Dunes Golf Course and head out to Anthony Gap or a 60 mile ride which extends to La Mesa, NM. Project Vida is located in the center of El Paso, three blocks north of the Rio Grande, within one of the nation’s most impoverished neighborhoods. Since its inception, Project Vida’s programs have been based on regular dialogue with the community, including annual meetings. The first such meetings resulted in the opening of a one room clinic in 1990. Today, Project Vida serves three neighborhoods and over 1500 families are enrolled in each of its programs. Based on the needs of these low-income neighborhoods. Project Vida has expanded over the years into a multi-faceted center striving to change lives in a holistic and profound way.

Bike for Mike – Fulshear, TX

Union Chapel Vineyards/Bar O Ranch
Corner of First Street and Wallis Street   Fulshear, TX
Join us for a 21, 43, or 63 mile ride throughout the scenic areas surrounding Fulshear. Ride begins at 8:00am for 63 mile participants, followed by 43 and 21 mile groups. Families and children can register for the Pedal Pusher 3 mile fun ride through Fulshear Creek Crossing which begins at 9:00am.
Riders – $35.00
Pedal Pushers – $45.00
Route begins at the Union Chappel Vineyards/Bar O Ranch located on First Street and Wallis Street in Fulshear TX. Support will be provided from entertaining rest stops, refreshments, law enforcements, SAGs, mechanical, breakfast, and lunch. Radios and headphones are prohibited. First 200 participants will receive a Bike for Mike t-shirt. Afterwards join us for the popular after ride celebration with lunch and music by Fred Rusk and the Zydeco Hi-Steppers in the vineyard!

This is the 1st Annual MNB Ride! You can be part of history as we are confident this will grow into one of the best rides in Texas.

Online registration

Early Registration $30 thru April 14, Late Registration $40 after April 14
There are three distances: 62 miles (100k), 32 miles and 12 miles. All rides start and end in the parking lot of Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels. The popular and beautiful River Road is included in all routes. The ride provides funding for Mission: New Braunfels, a ministry of Oakwood Baptist Church that helps people repair damaged homes, build wheelchair ramps, and other necessary structural improvements. Funds will also be shared with these MNB partners: Child’s Advocacy Center of New Braunfels – councils children through child abuse and helps place them in safe homes. The Crisis Center of New Braunfels – provides temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence. Kids Club – after school mentoring for at risk kids.
