John McAllister Races the Tour of New Braunfels By Rick Ankrum, on February 6, 2009, 8:19 pm This last weekend I headed up to New Braunfels to do a couple days of racing. Neither day is really ‘my’ type of course, one being a crit and the other being a flat exposed RR.
The crit was pretty easy overall, there were a half dozen attacks, a couple of which i went on, but in the end nothing was able to stay away. However, up until we crossed the finish i thought for sure we would not catch that last group. With 3 laps to go (~6miles) a group of 3-4 still had a 45 sec gap, but most of that was eaten up in the final run to the line. I coasted in mid pack.

About Texbiker.net Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.
My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.
Thanks to my wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.
In 1999 Texbiker.net was born to help my fellow bikers have ready access to all of the information about the Texas bicycling scene.
