Stonewall TX Sat 03/27/2010 100 K 20 miles, 30 miles, 45 miles
“Saddle up” with us on March 27, 2010 (9:00 a.m.) for the 3rd Annual LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour. Beginning/ending on the air strip of the historic LBJ Ranch at Stonewall TX, the tour traverses hilly, scenic, traffic-free roads adjacent to the Ranch. Routes of 10, 30, 44, and 65 miles (100K) provide the venue for the beginning of spring cycling in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. As an added feature at 1:00 p.m., Luci Baines Johnson leads a narrated tour (included with registration fee) of each of the landmarks on the LBJ Ranch – the Texas White House, show barn, old school, old homestead, LBJ grave site. This will truly be a “Ride to Preserve History”. Tour cost is $35.00 until March 5 ($40.00 thereafter) for supported ride, post-ride hot meal (vegetarians accommodated), maps, SAG support, rest stops, commemorative bandana, and t-shirt (to pre-registered riders). http://www.lbj100bicycletour.org

The corrrect start time for the LBJ 100 is 9:00 AM, Central Time.
Our short route is 10 miles, the third longest distance is 44 miles, and the longest is actually 65 miles – which is slightly more than 100 K. All of these correct distances (along with maps w/ elevations) are listed on the referenced web site.
We expect a lot of enthusiastic riders, as our ride opens the spring cycling season in the Texas Hill Country.

About Texbiker.net
Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.
My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.
Thanks to my wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.
In 1999 Texbiker.net was born to help my fellow bikers have ready access to all of the information about the Texas bicycling scene.
