Road Ride Before the Cold Arrives

Another cold front moves in after midnight so if I was going to get another ride before the end of the month it had to be tonight. The temperature for the ride was 64 degrees and the wind was from the SE at 17mph. I rode my Raleigh M800 mountain bike with the lights working overtime. Because of the heavy clouds there was no moonlight to help. This weekend the temperatures are not supposed to go above 52 degrees. This is too far below my temperature limit. I’ll be inside doing house repairs and remodeling.

The charts from my Garmin Edge 305.

  • I hear ya. We had heavy rains today here in Fort Worth, but I made sure I rode my bike to work yesterday in anticipation of the lousy weather. I had to ride my backup commuter (’83 Raleigh Marathon) since I’ve had some broken spokes on my primary commuter (’94 Nishiki hybrid) and am waiting for a new rear wheel.

  • You are riding some older wheels. I don’t feel so bad with my 1996 Raleigh M800 MTB. Wise planning to avoid the weather.
