Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Houston officials have urged drivers to share the road for bicycle safety for months, and now are poised to give folks more options to share bikes and share automobiles so maybe fewer drivers take to the road.

On June 13, 2001, City Council approved Resolution 2001-28 authorizing the nomination of the Buffalo Bayou Heritage Corridor (the Project) for funding consideration in the statewide Transportation Enhancement Program (TEP) administered by Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). The project was selected for funding, but in 2014 it was withdrawn from the program due to multiple unforeseen delays. What: Ride features more than an hour of Christmas cheer.
Where: Pavilion in Independence Park, 3919 Liberty Drive in Pearland.
When: 6-9 p.m.
