As part of the West Texas Championship Series, mountain bikers in Beginning, Sport and Expert classes can test their skills on our award-winning trail system. There will also be a road and mountain bike tour for those not competing but would just like to experience this fast growing exercise sport. KeO’ Bicycle Pedals Recalled by Look Cycle
I use a pair of Look KeO Sprint pedals. The manufacture date is 2004 and 2005.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: KéO Bicycle Pedals
Units: About 80,000 (40,000 pairs)
Distributor: Look Cycle USA, of San Jose, Calif.
Hazard: The steel axle inside the pedal can break, posing a fall hazard to cyclists.
Incidents/Injuries: Look Cycle has received 14 reports of incidents with broken pedals, including 7 injuries which resulted in scrapes, cuts, contusions, elbow pain, and a knee injury.

2008 Monthly Bike Time Trials – D/FW and Austin
RunFAR Racing Services presents the 2008 Monthly Bike Time Trials for the running, triathlon, duathlon, cycling and inline community.
NEW ADDITIONAL LOCATION: JOE POOL LAKE DAM
RunFAR is now offering this timed work out in two locations. Starting in August 2008, RunFAR will offer this same timed workout for athletes in the D/FW area. The start and finish is near the entrance to the dam. The same procedures below apply to the Joe Pool Lake work out.

SEPTEMBER:Â Â Â Tuesdays, 9th and 23rd
Approximately 8 mile Bike Time Trial
First cyclist starts at 6pm. Riders may start at their discretion. Registration begins at 5:30pm and closes just before 6:55pm.
AUSTIN – Chip rental is near the Veloway parking lot at 4848 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX 78749. The start line is open from 6pm – 7pm. Limited to the 1st 100 people or so who need a chip.
D/FW – Chip rental is near the entrance to the dam just inside the Lynn Creek Park lake entrance. The start line is open from 6pm – 7pm. The workout is limited to the 1st 100 people who need a chip.
