Ocean Drive is getting a slightly more expensive, smaller-rock seal coat this spring bicyclists say should provide a smoother ride along the scenic route.
The city regularly puts a seal coat over streets as a way to extend the life of the street, said Kevin Stowers, interim director of engineering services. A larger-rock mix, called chip seal, normally is used.

Katy Mills Mall
The Katy Ram Challenge is a non-competitive bike ride held annually in Katy, TX to benefit the Mayde Creek High School Ram Band Boosters. The proceeds from this event supports the Mighty Ram Band by providing funds for current and future programs, scholarships, and events. The ride includes support and travels along several courses ranging from a 12 mile family ride to a nearly 80 mile endurance ride. The different routes take you around the Katy and Brookshire areas. You can expect to experience rolling meadows as well as rural flatlands.
