Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Tour De Cypress – Katy, TX

22, 52, 68 or 75 mile bike ride through the beautiful backroads of Harris and Waller Counties. It is a must ride for all MS 150 riders. The Tour de Cypress starts from Katy Rhodes Stadium beginning at 7:10 am on Saturday, April 7th. All riders must finish by 3 pm.

The start and finish is at Katy Rhodes Stadium, located at 1733 Katy-Ft. Bend County Rd. Take exit 742 off I-10 West. Turn right (north) on Katy Ft. Bend Rd. and the stadium will be on the left. The actual address is 1733 Katy Ft. Bend County Rd.

This is our largest fundraiser for the year, supporting the local food pantry, library, scholarships, the Global Safe and Clean Water Initiative, and other worthy charitable enterprises.

Dallas Off-Roads Bicycle Association Skills Clinic on Cornering, Rowlett Creek Preserve, Rowlett, 9:30 a.m., free, www.dorba.org. (Participants need not be DORBA members.
