Beginning Monday, San Marcos residents and park patrons will begin to see construction on a new ADA-compliant bicycle and pedestrian concrete trail in and around the areas of Children’s Park, Rio Vista Park and Ramon Lucio Park.
The trail will be a 1.7-mile long, 10-foot wide pathway that will tie into an existing trail east of the Hopkins Street bridge. The project is expected to be completed by early summer 2020, weather permitting.

The Houston Parks Board will launch two major public events this spring to celebrate the final stages of its public-private $220 million Bayou Greenways 2020 capital project.

A driver struck a Metro Rail car and a cyclist Monday in downtown, according to Houston police.
The crash was reported at about 6 p.m. at the corner of Main and Lamar, police said.
The condition of the cyclist and the driver was not available late Monday.
Metro police, the lead agency, could not be reached for comment.
