Texbiker.net Posted on September 25, 2018 by Rick AnkrumSeptember 25, 2018

When I set out on today’s bike ride at 11:20 am (later than I planned, still dealing with computer problems) the sky looked threatening in almost every direction. Initially I wanted to ride longer but after looking at the sky … Continue reading →

With one week left in September the pressure to reach my goal drove my selection of today’s route; “SR242 – Old Houston Rd – FM1314”. I biked 45.31 miles bringing me within 88 miles of the 700 mile goal. This … Continue reading →

Second day in a row I needed to wash the Canyon bike off after the bike ride. Today I rode about 2 miles before finding a place to get out of the light rain. Biking the “Kingwood – FM1485 – … Continue reading →

Breaking in a New Jersey With Rain Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on September 20, 2018 by Rick AnkrumSeptember 20, 2018

For a change my timing bicycling in the potential rain worked out in my favor. I rode the “May Park Community Center – Huffman” route starting at 10:46 am. At the beginning the weather didn’t look too threatening but as … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
