The cold is persisting and this means more time on the windtrainer. February is going to be a record month for time and miles on this piece of equipment. I am beginning to wonder when this winter weather will be leaving. Tonight’s numbers: miles = 8.04 time = 36:38 average speed = 13.2 max speed [...] This should be the last week of cold winter by my proclamation. This is getting too much to handle indoors. I need to ride on the road. But until then here are the statistics from tonight’s ride to no where. miles = 11.20 total time = 50:21:78 average pace = 4:29/mile average speed = 13.3 [...] The temperature is edging up. I am planning on the first organized ride of the year this Saturday at the Humble Lions Bike Ride. Supposedly the weather will be in the mid-60′s by the time I should finish. I can’t believe it has taken this long to go to an organized ride. I am ready!! [...] |

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling. My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there. Thanks to my wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.
