About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Bike for Achievement First Bridgeport Academy: Deep in the heart …
by Harold
We’ve had an eventful 2 days of riding. Yesterday, we had steady 30mph winds all day. The route curved in various directions, so we had to fight crosswinds, and occasionally a head wind. That made the day as much of a mental challenge as a physical one, because you always had to be focused on handling the bike and not getting blown off the road. 109 miles of that was tough, even though the wind helped more often than not. …

JEFF VAUGHN: Biking San Antonio | kens5.com | San Antonio Living …
Last September I rode 100 miles in one day for BikeMS. It was a long, hard, but extremely gratifying day.

Since then I have tried to make bicycling a part of my regular workout routine. After spending big money for a road bike, you would too!

But I found an additional benefit to cycling across San Antonio: I am getting to know the Alamo City in a completely different way.

I am the new guy to KENS and since I arrived in January, I have tried to spend as much time as possible getting to know…
