About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Threat of Rain But No Follow Through, April 14th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on April 14, 2010 by Rick AnkrumApril 14, 2010

Unlike Saturday when the weatherman said no rain and it rained, today there was slight chance of rain (30%) and I saw some on the radar at times in my area but none appeared. I was able to get home on the evening commute at a respectable time to go riding. Partly cloudy, 75 degrees and a nice breeze at 16 mph from the SE.

Today’s ride statistics:

  • miles = 22.84
  • riding time = 1:31:13
  • average pace = 4:00 min/mile
  • average speed = 15.0 mph
  • max speed = 20.3 mph
  • average cadence = 79.7 rpm
  • max cadence = 105. rpm
  • climb 246 ft., descend 147 ft.
  • April miles 265.13
  • YTD miles 1151.88
