He plans to bike from El Paso to Beaumont without the use of his legs
Mikail Davenport, 58, has post-polio syndrome and he’s a cancer survivor. Tuesday Davenport kicked off a 950-mile, 25 day cycling tour to prove that having a disability is not a death sentence. He’s calling it the Legless Lizard Tour de Tejas.

I submitted a comment yesterday trying to warn Mikail that overuse of muscles (even those NOT affected by Polio/PPS) will cause PPS to worsen body-wide, but find no copy thereof. Please advise him to see a PPS-Aware Dr. or Physiatrist to confirm what we already know in out 600-Member post-polio YAHOO group. I am the Group Owner/Moderator and only want him to know the consequenses that await him, most likely.Tom

I really believe in Mikail’s cause and am quite proud of him. He’s never let his affliction stop him from living life to the fullest.
