Tour Das Hugel – Austin, TX By Rick Ankrum, on November 6, 2008, 11:21 pm Unique Beginning
Every year we would find a new hill and hidden treasures that increased the climbing. Now after 5 years, we are up to 105 miles and 14,600 ft of climbing. Of course, we realized that people could actually die if we kept the Tour Das Hugel in Aug… hence we move the race date to Nov.

About Texbiker.net Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.
My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.
Thanks to my wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.
In 1999 Texbiker.net was born to help my fellow bikers have ready access to all of the information about the Texas bicycling scene.

Damn, that was a tough ride! I’d like to give a big shout out to all the volunteers who hung out and supported us. Every rest stop was extremely well supported, and I didn’t pay a dime for this ride. Amazing.
I ditched my jacket and leg warmers after the first loop, thinking it was going to warm up. I was wrong, and the only thing that kept me from bailing out was finding a girl’s sweatshirt on the side of 620. I looked ridiculous, but i was warm(er).
The latest information about the 2010 Tour das Hugel (TdH) is here:

(The current confusion stems from the fact that there is no formal ride organizer this year*, as there has been in years past.)
