The Houston Cy-Fair Lions present the 11th Annual Lions Biking for Sight Century Bike Ride on Sunday, September 19th, 2010. The ride begins at 8 AM at the Montgomery Athletic Complex Cycle through some of the most beautiful Texas landscape in Montgomery and Grimes counties. The 24 mile route takes you past an exotic animal farm, while the 40, 62 and 100 mile routes take you through the Sam Houston National Forest. The 62 and 100 mile routes have hills, perfect training for the Bike MS: Valero Ride to the River Directions: From Houston, take I-45 north to Conroe. Go west on State Highway 105 across Lake Conroe. Two miles past the intersection of State Highway 105 and FM 149, the athletic Complex will be on the right. Please follow directions for parking. Registration and Packet pick-up: $ 25 if postmarked before September 1, 2010. Includes a T-shirt $ 30 on or after September 1, 2010. Includes a T-shirt if received by September 10, 2010. $35 DAY OF RIDE Northwest Cyclery Jones Road at US 290 Friday September 17, 10 AM to 7PM Saturday September 18, 10 AM to 5PM OR Sunday September 20 at the ride start at Montgomery Athletic Complex.   1. I am 60 years old and have decided to start riding again after 40+ yrs. I rode 5.5 miles last weekend in Portland OR and only fell 4 times. I have bought 2 bikes this week, one for here in Montgomery TX and one in Portland where my daughter and her family live. I am going to try to get my friends up for this ride. My goal is to complete it with 0 falls.

    My Father, Donald Ogle, was a Tailtwister in the Lions Club of Channelview Texas back in the 50’s – 60’s. I remember one meeting where they were having a cake raffle to raise funds. He had my Mother frost a 1/2 gallon milk carton for the “Prize”. The winner was greatly surprised when he tried to cut and serve a slice!!

    Please keep me posted so I can register for this ride.
