Searching For The Lost Bike Ride to Farmingham Road
After losing my NiteRider Sentinel 250 taillight on yesterday’s bike ride I thought I may be riding the route again today I might find it. Starting at 11:50 AM the weather changed from yesterday: start 72 (84% humidity, 66.5 dew point), overcast, wind S 5 mph. Finish 73 (83% humidity, 67.2 dew point), overcast, wind calm. I changed my attire slightly too exchanging the long sleeve jersey for a thermal long sleeve jersey. I felt more comfortable today. Today’s temperature was about the same but the humidity was higher.
Trying to keep my eyes along the road limits watching other things. The light could have bounced anywhere, someone might have picked it up, or went down a storm drain. I thought of places along the route with bumps and watched there. As I approached the wooden bridge along Kingwood Drive I remembered hearing a noise while riding over it yesterday it is bumpy. I leaned my bike against the railing and walked back across the bridge looking down on the ground and water. Nothing showed up and I think if that was the light falling from the bike it probably went in the water and gone forever.
On the way back home I stopped at Tailwind Bicycles to see if they had a taillight but they are closed on Mondays. When I got home I ordered new NiteRider. While I rode I thought of ways to secure the light to avoid losing another one. Hopefully I think of a good idea.
Later tonight a cold front arrives putting indoors Zwifting on Tuesday and several days after that.
