Pearland’s long-running Tour De Lites bike ride to feature hay ride, bicycle-decorating contest

A group known for its project to build an inclusive playground in Pearland is preparing to stage a Dec.10 bike tour in which participants will pedal past homes decorated in holiday lights in the Green Tee Terrace subdivision.

Staged by the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland, the 29th annual Tour De Lites will start at 4:30 p.m. at the pavilion at Independence Park, 3449 Pearland Parkway and will be led by the Pearland Police Department.

With regret, we are rescheduling Cranksgiving to January 21, 2023. Due to the recent rain and the forecasted heavy rain for the rest of this week, the bike trails at Reimers Ranch Park are closed now and are expected to remain closed through the weekend.

We felt it was better to call it sooner than later so those who were planning on attending can plan to do something else.

GRANBURY, Texas (BP) — January 27, 2018, was a cool and windy day in North Texas, but one that asked for a bike ride.

Ever since a torn meniscus ended his running regimen, Tan Flippin had spent considerable time on a bicycle to stay in shape. That day the then-57-year-old was riding along a stretch beside a subdivision – a stretch that had recently undergone some street repair.
