All Northwest ISD students and families are invited to a bike safety event hosted by the Fort Worth Police Department on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at J.C. Thompson Elementary School (440 Wishbone Lane, Haslet).
Organized by certified bike officers from FWPD, the event will include presentations on crosswalk crossing safety, how to correctly maneuver safely with a bike while crossing the street, proper bike hand signals, explanations of street signs, etc.

LUBBOCK, Texas — The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation invited the community to a bike rodeo on May 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 4500 Avenue U, according to a social media post.

The annual Texas MS150 ride is taking place over two days this weekend and will affect roads in and around Washington County as participants bike the multiple legs from Austin or Houston to College Station.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The two day MS150 bike race is this weekend and will end at Texas A&M University.
KBTX spoke with rider Kathy Langlotz, who’s been participating in the race for over 20 years.
“A group of my triathlon buddies had done the MS ride the year before and convinced me that I needed to go along and that it was a fun adventure to do on a bike. That sounded fun to me, I thought it would be a great fun to do with my triathlon buddies and it really really was,” said Langlotz.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The MS 150 cycling event needs more volunteers to help at the finish line celebration in Kyle Field.
Bike MS is a charity cycling event that raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s efforts in empowerment and research for people with Multiple Sclerosis. The event will be from April 27 to April 28.
“It takes over 2,000 volunteers across all of our communities to come together to help make the event happen, “ said Andrew Davis, Senior Specialist of Volunteer Engagement for the National MS Society. “We only have about 80 or so staff members in the state of Texas, and we’re anticipating anywhere between 5,000 to 6,000 riders to hit the road this weekend. Almost 250 of those volunteers, if we get all of our shifts filled, will be there at our Kyle Field finish line.”
Bike MS is the seventh largest charity cycling event in the country, according to the National MS Society website. Over 50,000 cyclists …
