The process to become a state park is a long one, however …

What an amazing day this has been! First, I was able to help people/patients in an amazing way today at my “new” physical therapy job in San Antonio. I say amazingly, because I myself am still healing from my TBI, which happened back in 2013! One good thing about this job is that despite the long hours many week days, we get off at noon on Fridays. Since the weather is supposed to be rainy all weekend, I figured that this afternoon and evening would be a good time to get a long ride in. Actually, according to the meteorologists, it was supposed to be raining today as well.????
The wind was brutal heading out, but then I had a good east component of it behind me to push me down Hwy 473. When I got to Comfort, I wanted to do a little bit extra, and instead of the Gaddis Bluff old TT loop, I took a left on Schladoer Rd which led me back to Hwy 27. I then took Hwy 27 back into Comfort, and stopped at the traditional Shell station. There, I refilled my bottles, bought a Coke, and then enjoyed a nice tailwind pushing me down the #SerpentineHolidayRollers?. Since I left from #MyOldShop in Boerne, I waited one last time to try for my maximum power when I turned on Norris Ln to get back to my truck.
I stood up and gave it all I had, and was really amazed that I hit 1,252W. Of course, and as always, I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for saving me both physically, and spiritually enabling me to return to this sport that I love. I thank Him for another safe ride without any mechanicals or flats

I’m continuing to ride my Canyon Endurace CF 7 with the DT Swiss Endurance LN wheels and 700x40mm tires, and wearing MTB shoes in preparation for my bike tour at the end of March. I want to be comfortable with the setup and identify any problems. Today’s bike ride on the Kingwood to Ramsey Road – Huffman route was the longest ride this month with 40.15 miles. On my previous bike ride on this route February 1st Ramsey Road north was closed due to road construction. I wondered if that still was the case today. Check the video to see what I found out. Wind was a big factor today biking to Ramsey Road, 18 mph with 29 mph gusts from the south. I pedaled hard the last 2 miles on Old Atascocita Road to Ramsey Road. There was nothing to obstruct the wind along that road but once I made the u-turn the wind assisted me back to Kingwood. Stava registered the Local Legend on Kings Crossing North (2:17).
Weather: Start 77 degrees, humidity 81%, dew point 70.7, overcast, wind S 13 mph; Finish 79 degrees, humidity 75%, dew point 70.5, overcast, wind S 18 mph gusts 28 mph.
