The TX TOUGH Grand Prix is a high-speed, circuit style bike race known as a criterium. Professional cyclists will race around a 1500-meter loop through Victory Park and the American Airlines Center. The event will feature more than 100 professional riders who will compete for the $25,000 cash. Dallas citizens will have the opportunity to watch riders reach speeds up to 50 mph as they fly through the streets of Dallas.

Grapevine’s Mad Duck Cyclery is thrilled to present the 2008 Patriot Pedal bike rally honoring those veterans severely injured since 9/11. The Patriot Pedal is a fully supported rally that will start and finish at Southlake’s “Dragon Stadium.†Southlake is approximately 5 miles west of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. Rider check-in will commence at 6:30AM, with rider roll-out beginning at 8:00AM. The Patriot Pedal Rally is part of the greater Southlake Independence Weekend which culminates with a benefit concert saluting America’s military heroes by well known entertainer, Gary Sinise and the LT Dan band.

This ride is to honor David Eikenburg, who died tragically in a cycling accident on July 11, 2005. He died doing what he loved, but his first love and passion was to share the love of Jesus. We would like to honor him with this bike ride, remembering what he loved, and then to glorify God by continuing David’s legacy.
