Texbiker.net Posted on April 8, 2013 by Rick AnkrumFebruary 24, 2017

A big surprise on today’s ride was the strong wind. I should have realized it was so strong when I watched the trees sway in our backyard before I started my ride. Looking at wunderground.com the wind showed to be … Continue reading →

Wind No Coincidence? – March 8th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on March 8, 2013 by Rick AnkrumMarch 3, 2017

I took yesterday off from biking and the wind calmed down. I ride today and the wind kicked up again. This may be a coincidence but I doubt it. When I started my ride today the wind was 20 mph from the … Continue reading →

Texbiker.net Posted on February 5, 2013 by Rick AnkrumMarch 3, 2017

Who says its over 40 days until spring officially arrives? You wouldn’t know it from the weather today. After the rain yesterday today turned around once the early morning fog burned off. I started the ride today at 12:45 and … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
