Texbiker.net Posted on June 21, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 31, 2017

I left home at 10:29 giving the weather time to warm up while I biked. After reading Dr. Mirkin’s newsletter this week about sun protection I decided to wear a red long sleeve jersey. You might think this would be … Continue reading →

A Spill – June 19th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on June 19, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 18, 2017

Ride to the south and east today I went through Atascocita, Walden and Huffman. The roads were no different than normal except for a possible diesel fuel spill on the north bound lane of FM2100 north of Old Atascocita Road. … Continue reading →

Fat Tire Bike Passing – June 18th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on June 18, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 18, 2017

Mostly cloudy skies held the temperature down some at the start of my ride and I relished the coolness of 85.6 degrees. By the time I got home at 12:47 it moved up to 93.7. My perspiration still flowed bountifully … Continue reading →

Running in a Sprinkler – June 17th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on June 17, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 18, 2017

Today’s ride brought back memories from 60 years ago when I saw some young children playing in a sprinkler in the driveway. I can remember when I was that age and running through the sprinkler to keep cool. Back where … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
