A Change in the Land – August 18th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on August 18, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 6, 2017

I thought I needed to verify today’s date with the uncharacteristic temperature when I got up this morning. 69 degrees at this date in August comes as a surprise. Earlier this week I rode in the upper 90’s to almost … Continue reading →

Texbiker.net Posted on August 17, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 31, 2017

I put back the short sleeve jersey and pulled out an orange long sleeve one for this morning’s ride. The 71 degrees caused me to make this change. Evidently the thunderstorm that came through last evening brought some cooler weather … Continue reading →

Afternoon Heat – August 16th Bike Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on August 16, 2013 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 6, 2017

Today was an afternoon ride. My wife celebrates her birthday today and wanted to go shopping so I stayed home to watch the remodeling workers. I left on the ride at 1:36 under partly cloudy skies, 93 degrees, 47% humidity … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
